Travelers with Special Needs

Route 66 Tours (The Company) makes reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled and mobility-impaired travelers but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so. Because individual assistance cannot be provided to travelers in many situations, and most transportation services are not equipped with wheelchair ramps, please contact us to learn more before booking.

Disclosure & Booking Requirements

Any special requirements or disabilities must be disclosed to The Company at time of reservation. If such requirements arise after the reservation, they must be disclosed as soon as they are or reasonably should be known. If The Company has not received disclosure of requirements or disabilities that require reasonable accommodations, and/or if your guest's participation poses a threat to the safety or health of themselves or others, The Company may be unable to accommodate your guest for part or all of the tour, cruise, or any related services.

No refunds are provided for missed services or activities due to your guest's inability to fully participate with the group - including keeping pace with the group - if conditions requiring assistance were not disclosed to The Company at the time of reservation or when reasonably known.

Suitability & Accessibility

Guest are responsible for assessing whether the itinerary is suitable for all participants on the reservation. We recommend contacting The Company prior to making a reservation to determine what reasonable assistance might be available.

Certain activities or venues may be limited or inaccessible if your guest's mobility is limited in any way. Many excursions and sightseeing activities involve:

Personal Services

The Company does not provide personal services or individual assistants to trip participants. Staff and service providers are not required or trained to assist with personal tasks, including:

Rules & Procedures

The Company is not able to provide any services, equipment, or equipment rentals, and tour representatives are not able to provide any individual or personal physical assistance. Please advise your guest of the following:

Manual Wheelchairs

Notify The Company at the time of reservation if guest is traveling with a wheelchair, or as soon as the need arises if it occurs after booking. Please note:

Collapsible wheelchairs may be permitted when travel with a wheelchair is disclosed to The Company. Permitted wheelchairs must fit within these restrictions: 1030mm/40.55″ length × 555mm/21.85″ width.

You are responsible for storage (e.g., in your room) and maintenance of any permissible wheelchair.

Motorized Scooters

Ground Floor Rooms

Accommodations are contracted to keep the tour group on the same floor. Ground floor rooms cannot be confirmed. A low floor number or room close to the elevator may be requested but cannot be guaranteed at every hotel.
